Mikhail Shilenkov (baroque bassoon)

Mikhail Shilenkov was born in 1977 in Moscow.

He graduated from The Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in 2001. His professor was V. S. Popov.

While he was a student he was working as a soloist at the leading Moscow orchestras. He became a first bassoonist at Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow. During that years Michail often performed as a soloist with different orchestras. He also performed in ensembles with outstanding musicians of our time, among whom are A. Lubimov, A. Utkin, T. Alikhanov, D. Shapovalov, M. Bennet, A. Baeva, N. Borisoglebsky, A. Bogorad, A. Buzlov.

Mikhail Shilenkov is a founder of ensemble of baroque musical wind instruments “L’espirit du Vent”. He is one of the few performes on baroque bassoon.

He took part in Alberto Grazzi’s masterclasses.

Mikhail is a musician of the orchestra of historical musical instruments “Pratum Integrum”. He also collaborates with the different ensembles (“The pocket symphony”, “La Villa Barocca”, “La Stravaganza” and others). He was a participant of various festivals (“Telemann-Festtage” in Germany, “La Folle Journée” in France, “Earlymusic” in Saint-Petersburg, “December nights” and Homecoming International Chamber Music Festival in Moscow). He performed with famous conductors: V. I. Fedoseev, K. Mazur, A. Lazarev, H.-G. Casadesus, A. Rudin, V. Spivakov, V. Sinaisky, Y. Simonov, M. Pletnev, T. Kurentzis and many others).

Mikhail Shilenkov plays the bassoons of firm “Puchner” (modern bassoon) and “Wolf” (baroque bassoon.
