Jean-Pierre Steijvers graduated from the Conservatory in Maastricht (Netherlands) and from the Sweelink Conservatory in Amsterdam (Netherlands) as an organist, pianist and a performer of church music. He took part in many master-classes of leading organists.
He is a laureate and a prizewinner of a lot of organ competitions: the First Prime in J.S. Bach Competitions in Dublin (Ireland) and Luzern (Switzerland), the First Prime of The M. Tariverdiev International Organ Competition in Kaliningrad (Russia), a laureate of The 16th International Organ Competition, The Grand-Prize in the nomination Interpretation in Chartres (France).
Jean-Pierre Steijvers has several Russian rewards for the promotion of the organ music by M. Tariverdiev. He also has a reward «Kiwanis Cultuurprijs 2007» in recognition of his supporting the organ culture in Netherlands and abroad.
Jean-Pierre Steijvers is a regular organist of The Limburg Symphonic Orchestra (Netherlands). He performed with The Sydney Symphonic Orchestra (conducted by V. Ashkenazi) and with The Royal Flemish Symphonic Orchestra (conducted by E. de Waard).
From 1999 till present he has played concerts in the best concert halls in Russia, Japan, the USA and European countries.
The organ duet of Jean-Pierre Steijers with his wife (Japanese organist Hiroko Inoue) is very popular in Russia.
Besides the concert activity Jean-Pierre is a professor of organ, piano, chamber music, theory of music at The Centre of Arts in Roermond (Netherlands). He is also a conductor of the well-known St. Martinus Choir of the St. Martinus City Church.
Jean-Pierre Steijers is an art-director of Roermond Organ Foundation, an organizer of annual Roermond International Organ Festival. Among the participants of the Festival are Ph. Lefebvre, O. Latry, N. Hakim, M. Suzuki, G. Leo hard and many others.
