Evgeny Grechischev (jazz piano)

Evgeny Grechischev – jazz pianist, composer, winner of jazz festivals. Member of the ensemble of the Russian saxophonist Oleg Kireev, the quartet A. Tekuchev (vibraphone), the ensemble Tais Urumidis (vocal), etc. With Dmitry Kondrashov (saxophone, vocals) for many years he has been part of the Moscow Jazz Passengers based ensemble. Evgeny Grechischev conducts active concert activities solo and as part of his own trio (piano, double bass, drums), as well as with various famous jazz instrumentalists.
Participant of international festivals, including “Eurasia” (Orenburg), “Usadba.Jazz” in Arkhangelskoe, “Classic and Jazz” in Tsaritsyno, “Jazz in the Hermitage Garden”, “Jazz Voices “(Moscow), “North Jazz Festival” (Naryan-Mar), “Days of Russian Culture” (Brno, Czech Republic), “Russian Jazz” (Belgrade, Serbia), “Summer Jazz-2018” in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and many others.
One of the authors of the music to the movie “Sad Lady of Hearts” (RTR, 2007; dir. V. Kharybina).

He teaches jazz piano and ensemble at the Gnessin Music School and Dunaevsky Music School in Moscow. The author of the textbook on jazz piano “Jazz Continuo”.
Member of the jury of the annual All-Russian jazz pianists competition “Grand piano in jazz”; Moscow /2003 -2019/). Conducts master classes in different cities of Russia.
The organizer of educational and creative projects for young musicians. For several years he led jam sessions in Moscow jazz clubs (“Union of Composers” and the Igor Butman Club). He founded the project “Jazz Lab” in the Jazz Club “Union of Composers”. Since 2015, leads the subscription “The Art of Piano. Both Classics and Jazz” at the Marina Tsvetaeva House Museum. The organizer and participant (as a pianist) are master classes by American singers Mandy Gaines, Debora Davis, outstanding pianist George Cables, and famous trumpeter Eddie Henderson.
